MD MS admission in Delhi 2026 is done through the NEET PG 2026 score and MCC counselling. Delhi has about 1,409 MD/MS seats (NMC 2026-27 seat matrix), plus AIIMS New Delhi seats filled through INI-CET. Since almost every seat is in a government institute, Delhi offers some of the lowest PG fees in India – and some of the highest cutoffs.

NEET PG Counselling 2026 Dates (MCC Tentative Schedule)

Eligibility for MD MS Admission in Delhi 2026

• MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised medical college.
• One-year compulsory rotating internship completed by the cut-off date (31 July 2026, subject to NMC changes).
• Permanent or provisional registration with NMC or a State Medical Council.
• NEET PG 2026 score at or above the qualifying percentile – 50th (262/720) for General/EWS, 45th (244) for General-PwBD and 40th (226) for SC/ST/OBC.
• For Delhi University quota: final MBBS from a University of Delhi college.
• For IP University quota: MBBS from a college affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU).

Step-by-Step MD MS Admission Process in Delhi

1. Qualify NEET PG 2026 – check your rank and percentile on the NBEMS scorecard.
2. Register on mcc.nic.in – pay the registration fee and refundable security deposit for your round.
3. Fill and lock choices – list Delhi colleges and branches in order of preference; you can add as many as you like.
4. Seat allotment – MCC allots seats based on rank, category, quota eligibility and your locked choices.
5. Report to the college – carry original documents, complete verification and pay the fee within the reporting window.
6. Upgrade or exit – choose to join, or participate in later rounds for a better seat as per MCC rules.

Seat Quotas: AIQ, DU Quota & IP University Quota

Delhi does not run a separate state counselling; instead, MCC fills all major quotas. All India Quota (50%) seats are open to every eligible NEET PG candidate in India. The remaining 50% institutional seats go to graduates of the parent university – Delhi University quota for MAMC, UCMS and LHMC, and IP University quota for colleges such as VMMC, ABVIMS-RML and ESIC Basaidarapur. In addition, MCC fills 100% of deemed university seats (HIMSR) through deemed counselling.

Central reservation applies on AIQ seats: 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 27% OBC (non-creamy layer), 10% EWS and 5% PwBD horizontal reservation.

Private & Deemed College Options

Delhi has very few private PG options. In fact, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR), Jamia Hamdard, is the only deemed university offering MD/MS in Delhi, with 49 seats in 2026-27. MD MS Admission in Delhi Fees Structure 2026

Fees in Delhi depend mainly on whether the seat is in a government or deemed college. Government seats are among the cheapest in India, whereas deemed fees are high, especially for clinical branches. Government seats also carry a service bond – check the Delhi NEET PG bond rules before joining.

HIMSR figures are for 2025-26 from the institute fee notice; 2026-27 fees may be revised. Hostel fees are extra.

Management & NRI Quota Seats

Unlike states with many private colleges, Delhi has almost no management quota seats. The only paid option is HIMSR, and MCC fills those seats through deemed counselling – there is no direct or donation-based admission. Deemed cutoffs are usually lower than government cutoffs; however, fees are much higher.

NRI quota seats at HIMSR need valid NRI sponsorship documents and fees in US dollars. Any agent offering a “direct” MD MS seat in Delhi outside MCC is not legitimate – always verify on mcc.nic.in.
