NEET PG Counselling 2026 is a central process that assigns MD, MS, PG Diploma, DNB, and DrNB seats to eligible candidates according to their NEET PG rank. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for All India Quota, Deemed, Central, AIIMS, ESIC, and DNB seats, while individual state authorities conduct counselling for state quota seats.

NEET PG Counselling Registration Process Step-by-Step

1. Log in to mcc.nic.in or your state’s counselling portal using NEET PG credentials.

2. Pay the registration fee and refundable security deposit.

3. Upload MBBS/internship documents and category certificates.

4. Fill and lock your ranked list of college/course choices.

5. Wait for the round’s seat allotment result.

6. Report to the allotted college with original documents for verification.

7. Choose to freeze, upgrade, or exit as per that round’s rules.

• MCC and state authorities release their official schedules only after NBEMS declares the NEET PG 2026 result  Any dates announced before the NEET PG result should be considered tentative. 

• Seat matrices are typically revised across rounds as colleges add, correct, or withdraw seats (this applies especially to DNB seats covered in detail below).

• Keep checking mcc.nic.in and your state DME site directly for the latest NEET PG counselling update, since notices can be issued with very short notice windows.

NEET PG Counselling Schedule 2026

The typical sequence, based on the standard MCC pattern:

• NEET PG 2026 result declared by NBEMS

• MCC registration opens for Round 1

• State portals open registration separately

• Choice filling and locking (Round 1)

• Round 1 result and reporting

• Round 2 registration, choices, and result

• Mop-Up Round registration and allotment

• Stray Vacancy Round (final, no fresh registration)

NEET PG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

• Valid NEET PG 2026 qualifying score/percentile

• MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised institution

• Compulsory rotating internship completed, or due to complete, by the notified date

• Valid State Medical Council/NMC registration

• AIQ/Deemed/Central seats: largely domicile-free, merit-based

• State quota seats: usually require the applicable state’s domicile/local status rules

Deemed university MD/MS seats (Hamdard, Manipal KMC campuses, JSS Mysuru, SBKS Vadodara, and roughly 55 others) are allotted through this same MCC counselling process, but each institution sets its own fees rather than the government – typically Rs. 10-50 lakh a year depending on the college and specialty, with separate NRI-quota pricing. NEET PG Counselling Registration

• Separate registration is mandatory for MCC and each state portal, as there is no shared login between the two systems. 

• Fresh registration and choice locking is required in every round except the Stray Vacancy Round.

• Candidates can register for both AIQ and state counselling simultaneously, but simultaneous seat-blocking across both is prohibited under Supreme Court directives and can attract penalties.
